AVB's Portfolio of Businesses

AVB stands for my initials, Ashima Vij Brar.  I am a mother of two amazing young adults, my 23-year-old son and my 21-year-old daughter who are both successfully working as graduates from UC Berkeley and USC.  I enjoyed being a travel sports mom and PTA mom that held VP Fundraising roles for 21 years for some of the city of Torrance schools.  While raising my kids, I had a corporate career in biotech as a physician with an MBA for over 25 years and started 3 nonprofits helping kids in need of food, clothing, shelter and education, helping our homeless and our elderly population live a better life.

Once I became an empty nester, I had to find my new purpose and passion.  I was sad and missing my children. After doing the work to feel whole again, over the last few years, I started 4 businesses around my passions. Music helped heal my heart when my kids moved away for school so I wanted to give back to local musicians and find ways to help them so I started AVB Records. Then, I was laid off in my biotech job due to failed trials, so I started my own biotech consulting firm, AVB Consulting. My other passion is to take care of our elderly so I started Southbay Tender Homecare to help place caregivers that treat your loved ones like our own. Lastly, after I got a divorce in 2025, I wanted to help others navigate a new life of purpose, passion and happiness. After being alone, I found my second chapter in life so I became a certified Jay Shetty life coach. Since I believe we are all one community helping each other get through life together, I call many of my events and concerts, We Are One, to remind us that we are meant to go through the journey of life together.
